Toronto-based, guitar slinging Lorna Vallings was born in Uganda and raised predominantly
in Western, Australia -- where she was a popular female rocker on the indie music scene.
She is a self-taught guitarist, a drummer, and an indie-music producer who oversees an
independent record label, Jabali Entertainment.
Lorna Vallings's debut album Taste, includes songs that were featured in
movie soundtracks such as the Joshua Jackson film The Skulls (2000) and heard in the
video release Cruel Intentions II (2001). Also from the album Taste,
is the song "You Fascinate Me" which was featured in the Swiss independent film,
Dead by Monday (2001).
Lorna Vallings's next CD release is If Wishes Were Horses, due out in January 2002.
Chasing If Wishes Were Horses is the stark album, Confidential, which
will revist Lorna's roots as an edgy folk-rock guitar grrl. It will have a more acoustic
edge than If Wishes Were Horses and promises to feature a sexy alternative rock tune
that rivals Taste.
