Collaborating with talented and trusted musicians and in particular, relying on her excellent rapport with recording engineer, James Paul, Lorna embarked on a new musical journey. If Wishes Were Horses was to be a more mature endeavor, that above all else was fun.

Recording Taste had been what Lorna calls "a wilderness experience". Artistically, she felt supported by the musicians with whom she had developed a rapport over time, but often she felt very alone and lost in the greater scheme of the production. The project had taken on a life of its own that felt alien to the nature of the music as she had envisioned it.

The aim of self-producing If Wishes Were Horses was to bring back a comforting sense of ownership and authorship that had been lacking during the making of Taste. With greater confidence in her hand-chosen production team, the creation of the new album felt less fragmented than its predecessor.

With the new CD finally completed after long hours spent in the mixing studio, Lorna has appreciated the process of building If Wishes Were Horses. She hopes this new, supportive environment will produce a more seasoned sound to share.

Certainly the process has been more fulfilling for Lorna. So much so that she has decided to continue on this new path and will be recording and releasing a third album in 2003.
